Welcome to the GONA Training of Trainers! Developed in the early 1990s, the GONA model continues to serve as a powerful, culturally based framework for healing and community planning in Tribal communities.
Together, we’ll explore the four foundational phases of the GONA--Belonging, Mastery, Interdependence, and Generosity—through discussions, hands-on activities, and shared reflection. These teachings support communities in addressing the impacts of historical and intergenerational trauma, including substance use, suicide, violence, and poverty.
Each participant will receive a participant manual that can be used to facilitate a GONA in your own community or organization.
This webpage is your training hub for announcements, trainer bios, handouts, and other resources.
We’re grateful you’re here—let’s learn, connect, and continue the healing journey together.
