About the Training

Become a Certified Native Life Skills Empowerment Trainer!

Leading The Next Generations Native Life Skills Empowerment Curriculum is an awesome NEW tool that helps Native people build meaningful lives and get into the flow of wellness and life! These lessons are ideal for Tribal leaders and their staff who effect positive change in their communities, health clinic employees, anyone who is touching any segment of a Native population, such as Tribal Police department employees, TANF, workforce development, young parenting, GED, early or returning college, and juvenile justice programs, among others.

All Training of Trainers participants will receive Trainer certification, your own personal copy of the LNG Native Life Skills Empowerment Curriculum, new skills, trainers tips, and hands-on practice in using the curriculum with community members and clients!

Meet the Trainer

LoVina Louie
(Coeur d'Alene, Colville, Nez Perce)


LoVina is schitsu'umsh (Coeur d’ Alene) Tribe, nselxcin (Okanogan/Colville), Nimipu (Nez Perce) she is a descendant of Chief Morris Antelope of the schitsu'umsh and Chief Manuel Louie of the Inkaneep Band in Oliver BC Canada. She is a graduate of the University of Idaho where she received her Bachelors in Organizational Sciences with an emphasis in Community and Tribal Wellness. She was recently featured on Lifetime Movie Network 50 Women in 50 States and a speaker at the TEDx Coeur d’Alene event.  LoVina is a board member for the Native Wellness Institute, a national trainer and facilitator in youth leadership development, strategic planning, family constellations and community healing and wellness planning. She also has certifications from the Healthy Native Communities Fellowship.  She has worked with youth and adults in wellness and healing for over twenty years throughout North America. LoVina is the visionary behind the newly developed and revolutionary exercise series “Powwow Sweat” and co-directed the American Indian Film Festival and Red Nation Film Festival award winning music video “We Shall Remain.” As a former Miss Indian World she travelled to hundreds of tribal communities and this experience expanded her world view and desire to help all Indigenous people. LoVina is a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, friend and an amazing human being. Her passion and zest for life is infectious.


Cancelation Policy

Registrants who are unable to attend may send a replacement at no additional charge. Please provide us with the name of the replacement before the training. No refunds will be given for paid registrations, however, we can provide a credit for a future training. Training credits will expire after one year. If a participant is unable to attend and no cancellation is made prior to the training or replacement is made, the FULL amount of registration will be charged as a no-show fee.

Mention the Native Wellness Institute to receive the discounted room rate. The cutoff date to receive the discounted room rate is Saturday, January 4th, 2020. After this date reservations will be honored on a space available basis at the hotel prevailing rate.

​Rooms are subject to a Washoe County Room Tax of 13%, a daily resort fee, and a $2.00 tourism charge. Please contact the hotel for current fee’s as they are subject to change.

​Check in is at 3:00 pm and check out is at 11:00 am Pacific time.
