About the Training

Native values and cultural teachings have provided tools and protocols to assist every young person to navigate and manage healthy relationships and feel safe and secure with areas of their sexuality. Due to the lasting impacts of colonization, much of that information has gone underground and needs to be remembered.

In a world of social media addiction, porn addiction, young people attempting or taking their own lives over relationship challenges, high rates of sexually transmitted infections, the lack of gender identity understanding, high teen pregnancy rates and more, it can be challenging for adults working with Native youth to know how to best address these important topics.

This three-day interactive training will provide information, tools, exercises and processes to help you better help the young people you serve.

Training Topics

  • Healthy Relationships
  • Traditional Teachings on Relationships
  • Unhealthy Relationships
  • Teen Dating Violence and Sexual Assault
  • How To Leave an Unhealthy Relationship
  • Healthy Sexuality
  • Gender Identity
  • LGBTQ2
